Month 2 — Cruise Mode

“Let it be clear to you that the pace of green fields can always be yours, in this, that or any other spot; and that nothing is any different here from what it would be either up in the hills, or down by the sea, or wherever else you will.”

Why are you doing that? This was the first question my mother asked me. The best answer most probably is why not?

🚢 Cruise Mode is on

After 2 months on the road, we are more used to this new lifestyle. This helps organize and better manage the day-to-day chores without too much stress.

🎲 Give the opportunity to the unexpected

We were stopped at home, it was Val d’Uixo, when a car next to us was exiting the parking place. In his bumper a sticker with a guy climbing written Albarracin. I was looking for a place to climb and when I google it:

Albarracín, also known as the “Spanish Fontainebleau”, is a sandstone bouldering paradise.

At that point mixed feelings: Super happy to be near the city, super ashamed for being a climber looking for a place to climb, and not aware of Albarracin.

So we went there and the place is just awesome. A small city full of nature, energy, and good sandstones to climb. We end up staying for almost 2 weeks.

The original plan was to move south following the bay, so Valencia, Murcia, and so on, but as we started to move more to the center of Spain we decided to change the route a bit.

So checking the map going south Spain we saw Cordoba. I have always heard about Cordoba, seems a nice place for paragliding, many PWC’s (Paragliding World Cups) were done there. So why not?

We started our way down to Còrdoba and it was leaving Cuenca that we figure out that the amazing place for paragliding is called Còrdoba, but it is located in a different continent, South America. More precisely Argentina🤷🏻‍♂️

🚗 The Route

Second Month

✈️ Quick Detour

We are still working remotely and sometimes we need to adapt our things, routes, places we stay to make sure we have the right conditions to work.

This month I had to go back to Milan to work in the office for a couple of days so Malaga was the place offering the most convenient flights, and this was our choice. For 4 days Tais stayed in an Airbnb (that has a story of its own — to come soon 🍿) and I went o Italy.

🌧 And the rain reached us

Now we are in Granada and together with us arrived also the rain, the forecast for the week is not good🤞

The Good

  • Without strong commitments change the route is easy, this is allowing us to know different places not planned. We get the chance to spend some time in Albarracin was amazing. Definitely, a place to return.

The Bad

  • We were planning to buy a Lithium battery on the road, but it is being hard to organize. Most of the online stores are not willing to send the product to a DHL/UPS access point.
  • Out toilet broke this month 🚽 — Not a big deal was still working, but when full was leaking. So we ordered a new one @eBay and they managed to deliver in a NACEX access point.

What did we learn?

  • Amazon locker works quite well, but there are many restrictions. A lot of products cannot be delivered in a locker. Also in eBay, there are restrictions on sending to UPS/DHL access points

What is next?

Now we want to stop in a place where I can fly (paraglider) but the weather is not helping, so we will head to Seville and still around waiting for a good weather window

Ciao 👋
